Incident & Injury Management Policy

DeMartini Fletcher is committed to providing a safe workplace for all employees. The welfare of our employees, contractors, customers, visitors and the general public is our first priority.  We believe that all incidents and injuries are preventable and that when an incident or injury occurs it must be reported. It is critical to manage incidents and injuries and the welfare of people involved. Furthermore, we must investigate the cause and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.  To achieve the objectives of our policy, we will:  Comply with all legislative requirements related to the management of all incidents and any injuries, and ensure workers follow the approved Incident and Injury Management procedure in doing so.

  • Ensure information, resources and training are provided so workers can comply with this policy and report and manage incidents and injuries.
  • Ensure records and reports are kept
  • Consult with all workers to ensure they understand that they have a personal responsibility to manage incidents and injuries and to comply with this policy and associated procedures.
  • Provide trained First Aid Officers and ensure sufficient first aid supplies are available on site.
  • Maintain a current workers compensation insurance policy for rehabilitation of workers.

Continue to check the wellbeing of injured workers and ensure a Return to Work policy is in place and current.
